Catwoman (Tim Burton)
Basename:
Catwoman
Alias:
Michelle Pfieiffer
Brand:
PopPunkMunky
Serial:
A1250
Theme:
DC
Biography:
Catwoman, as portrayed by Michelle Pfeiffer in Tim Burton's Batman Returns (1992), is a reimagining of the classic DC character.
Her origin story deviates significantly from the comics. Initially, she is Selina Kyle, a meek and often overlooked secretary working for the corrupt businessman Max Shreck. After accidentally discovering Shreck's illegal dealings, she is pushed out of a window, seemingly to her death.
However, she is revived by a group of stray cats and undergoes a radical transformation. Driven by vengeance and a newfound confidence (and possibly a touch of feline influence), she creates the Catwoman persona, stitching together a distinctive leather catsuit.
This version of Catwoman is a complex and tragic figure. She's both a victim of circumstance and a vengeful anti-hero, blurring the lines between villain and protagonist. Her motivations are driven by a desire for justice, albeit often delivered with a chaotic and unpredictable edge.
